There are 5 people with the surname STONE in the Rye telephone directory. Search "Rye Sussex" in the U.K. Telephone Directory.
Beach Access
14th October 2016
Philip Moore:
In autumn and through the winter months the gate that you mention is often closed as contractors are moving shingle back to the western beaches. However if you walk a hundred metres to the right you can easily go down to the beach by avoiding their fenced off piece of beach.
Parking

Philip Moore:
The market is only on Thursdays. Parking on Thursdays in Rye is practically impossible! As you won't be here on a Thursday the problem doesn't arise. The car park is "Pay & Display" so have some coins ready. The CP itself will be busy on firework night so park early & don't go anywhere in your car else it may be full if you try & return.
Enjoy Rye Town - Come to the Nature Reserve at Rye Harbour Village & get some fresh air by the sea after firework night, before you return home.

You can walk your dog in the nature reserve, on the caravan site & on the beach but you must pick up its poo! There are no seasonal restrictions unlike at Winchelsea beach.

You can fish in the estuary or off the beach for free. You can fish in the private lakes at Rye Harbour but need to buy a ticket from the shop.

Philip Moore:
Vicki,
Your grandfather, Charles Tiltman died aged 33 in September 1938 & was buried in the graveyard of the Church Of The Holy Spirit at Rye Harbour. His address was, "The Retreat, Rye Harbour".
As far as I can see there are at least 3 other Tiltmans buried there. George Edward, buried 18/11/1918, age 46(?), Alice, buried 14/2/1934, age 57 and John William, buried 28/12/1939, age 69.
I hope this information is helpful.
Regards,
Philip.
